Writing my last post about the arts – and book art in particular – has got me re-visiting my own creative projects – most of which have been under wraps for far too long.
So spent an evening foraging in the loft for sketch books and work samples from my days studying textiles at Morley College in London.
First thought: What a lot of stuff you accumulate when you start making! Or rather experimenting – with dye, stitch, print and so on. That was always the fun part as I recall;
But amongst the chaos – a few nuggets! And then these photos of an installation piece exhibited at the Morley Gallery in 2007 following a year experimenting with paper making, paper casting and book binding. A walk through book exploring the symbolism of books and personal history.
And so inspired I have gifted myself half a day each week to start work again…
